About This Spot

Stepping into Tina Fish Market feels like uncovering a cherished neighborhood treasure tucked away in the northern tip of Manhattan. The moment you arrive, the inviting aromas of fresh sea herbs mingled with the unmistakable scent of golden fried fish wrap warmly around you, setting a comforting, unhurried tone. It’s the kind of place where time slows just enough to remind you that good food is best savored without rush.

This cozy fish and chips spot doubles as a lively seafood market, a local anchor where uptown rhythms blend effortlessly with the timeless pull of the ocean. The atmosphere hums quietly with a steady flow of regulars and newcomers alike — people who know that after a long day or late into the night, there’s no better place to find honest, satisfying seafood without pretense.

The menu unfolds like an invitation to savor familiar favorites with a soulful twist. Whether you’re sharing a plate of tender fried red snapper, savoring the comforting warmth of a seafood soup rich with fresh catch, or enjoying a simple combo that balances crispy shrimp with hearty mashed potatoes and crisp coleslaw, each bite carries a genuine sense of care and tradition. Arriving hungry, guests find themselves drawn in by the humble, generous flavors that never aim to impress beyond their own deliciousness.

There’s also a quiet rhythm to the ebb and flow here — the gentle bustle of people exchanging smiles over plates, attentive hands wrapping up orders, and familiar greetings that anchor a space where community quietly thrives. It’s a spot where being a little patient — with both the food and the payment method, cash only, a nod to its unpolished authenticity — becomes part of the experience.

For those wandering through the Dyckman neighborhood or exploring uptown’s less trodden paths, Tina Fish Market is a welcome pause, a place to reconnect with simple pleasures through flavors that feel steadfast and sincere.

I absolutely love their seafood soup. Every time I'm in NY, I make a special stop to this El Tina Fish Market to enjoy their delicious food. This time, we had non-breaded shrimp with green plantains and seafood soup with a side of plantains and garlic. We tried their seafood salad as well, and it was good. Reminder to bring cash as they don't accept cards or any other forms of payment. Be patient when you come as street parking is limited and hard to find. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and enjoy seafood.

If you love fish and are up late then this uptown spot is a go to for sure. As soon as you walk the smell of fried fish along with fresh herb aromas just fill up your nose with wow sensations, Definitely a hidden gem under the 1 train by 207 street. So next time your in The dyckman area and your hanging out stop by for some fresh fish and good late night seafood eats at this location oh and make to bring cash.

My sister and I always visit this place when we're in the mood for a long trip on the train. We ride here all the way from Brooklyn to get their mash potatoes and onions. The fish and shrimp are delish!

I strictly go here for shrimp and mash! fried or natural, either type are delicious but my fav is the natural’s. I also get a side of tostones with the garlic sauce It’s a small spot & could get loud and crowded at times but the food is well worth it, but to go plates are more so the way to go, it’s a good spot you get served fast it’s open 24hrs.
